The Pavilion

A quick note on this book – The Pavilion. You may or may not have heard of it, most likely not (sorry Mark) but this is the second book by an old friend of mine, the delightful MM. His first book – The Shed – was about two men and their alottment and this second book follows the two characters as they progress from home grown veg to the local village cricket team. The reason I mention this book here is this book is dedicated to Willoughby Cricket Club, on which I believe alot of the books themes were based. Willoughby is the cricket club I grew up playing for, and has a special family connection in that my Grandfather, Sidney Ivens, was the club chairman for several hundred years and originally donated the ground to the club.

Willoughby have their own website www.willoughbycc.org.uk and Mark (author) has his own website at www.mmbooks.net (although I am due to update this website for him – sorry Mark, I promise well get together and get it done before the summer!)

Anyway, that’s about it. The book of the cricket club of the village of the place of my childhood, and thanks to MM for putting pen to paper!
