The quickly chopped together video below is some highlights of our visit to the open day at Tysley Steam Works. I must admit I didn’t even know that this place existed before seeing a voucher on Groupon!

This week I’m out of the office on my long awaited break to the Cornish coast. Thankfully had some nice weather so far and touch wood the forecast looks ok. 3G signal is good so managed to tether iPhone to ipad for Internet access, which is considerably better than when in Wales. Spent some time [...]
If you know me pretty well you’ll already be familiar with the fact that every year myself and two good friends collaborate on a story together. They’re by no means literary masterpieces but they serve an entertaining purpose, for us at least. It began six years ago when we decided to try writing a book [...]

Today I promised Jon Hickman on Twitter a story about a mix tape. As it happens I have two, so here they are. One The year is 1985, Britain had just put the first man on the moon, spokey dokeys were revolutionising bicycle wheels, Margaret Thatcher had just released her first lingerie range and Sony [...]

This week Royal Mail unveiled the 10 album covers they are releasing as stamps. This includes Tubular Bells, Led Zeplin, Coldplay and so forth. It got me thinking what MY choice would have been. The evening consisted of; the overly ornate and elaborate reception of the studios converted into a dark, candle lit dungeon of a room with cobwebs, hanging bodies, spiders and so forth a spooky live [...]

Today Louise came across a double page spread in Visit Birmingham’s Pocket Guide for 2009. It basically gives you an example 48 hour itinerary for a weekend in Birmingham. Reading it reminded me just how much to do there is in Birmingham, but looking at it in more detail I considered; could I afford this [...]

This morning a dog war has errupted at Fazeley Studios. Due to some anonymous complain(s) the landlord decreed that dogs are to be barred from the building. A procession of emails have come forth, mostly from outraged dog owners protecting their constitutional right to bear dogs, as well as some people supporting the ban. I [...]

It must be friday. This morning’s ‘team meeting’ finished witha discussion about Google’s Chrome OS, potentially released next year. It’s supposed to be a lightweight OS based on Linux ideal for notebooks. Inevitably this led to the usual round of ‘Vista Bashing’ where we sit around Kam’s computer, click ‘Internet explorer’ then run a book [...]
